Qiwen Hu is a research fellow at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, HMS. Her research focuses on integrating single-cell image, epigenetic and RNA-seq datasets to discover cell type patterns and regulatory elements from the nascent brain and other tissues.

Qiwen received her PhD in Bioinformatics from North Carolina State University, where she studied translational regulation in plant genomes. She developed machine learning and statistical approaches based on high-throughput sequencing datasets to identify regulatory elements that affect transcription and translation. She also developed machine learning-based methods to extract regulatory signals from the addicted brain and developmental tissues.
